The captive breeding of reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish and small mammals has been an interest of mine since the late 1960s. It all started with two Eastern Box turtles that I collected while exploring the forests surrounding my home on Eastern Long Island, NY. I was fascinated by the mating and the eventual deposition of the eggs. I scooped them up and put them in some sand in a box, outside our home. I waited and waited, but no babies hatched.

Researching what went wrong put me on the path to creating Global Captive Breeders, more than 3,000 miles and 40 years from that early Box turtle experience. After getting a degree in Biology, I turned my attention to Wall Street and became a financial advisor to large institutions across North America, an almost 30 year career that now is in its late stages. Having assisted companies execute on their growth plans, I decided to marry my hobby with my profession and create Global Captive Breeders LLC a company dedicated to the captive breeding of reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish and small mammals.

Global Captive Breeders has three goals:

1. To become the largest breeder of captive bred reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish and small mammals in the world, in terms of the number of species within our facilities.

2. To make some of nature’s greatest living wonders available to hobbyists at affordable prices.

3. To educate non-hobbyists on the enjoyment in keeping and breeding various reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish and small mammals.

It’s been four years since our incorporation and this October we celebrated our 1 year anniversary in our new 6,200 sq. ft. facility in Lake Elsinore, CA

There is so much to do and time marches on. Watch us because we’re on the move.
